AD Buys Junk Cars (“we,” “us” or “our”) buys junk, damaged and unwanted vehicles from our yards in Lake Worth Beach, Florida, and Perth Amboy, New Jersey. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through adbuysjunkcars.com (the “Site”), by phone and text message, and when we buy a vehicle from you, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Information You Give Us
When you request a quote, call us or sell us a vehicle, we may collect:
- Contact details, such as your name, email address, phone number, city and state.
- Vehicle details, such as the year, make, model, condition, vehicle identification number (VIN), and whether you have the title.
- Photos you upload, including photos of the vehicle and of the title. A title photo can show the owner’s name and address, the VIN and lien information.
- Information required to complete a purchase, such as a copy of your driver license or state ID, your signature on the title or bill of sale, and, where state law requires, a thumbprint. Florida, for example, requires a licensed buyer to attach a copy of the seller’s ID to a Derelict Motor Vehicle Certificate application.
- Payment details needed to pay you, such as the name or phone number for a Zelle payment or the payee name for a check. We do not collect credit or debit card numbers through the Site.
- Messages you send us by email, text or phone.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, our systems and service providers automatically collect certain technical information. This includes your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, the website that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. These tools use cookies, which are small files stored by your browser. Our security software also logs IP addresses and requests to protect the Site against attacks.
Third-Party Content on the Site
Some pages display content provided by third parties, including Google Maps and Google reviews shown through a review widget. When a page loads this content, the provider may receive your IP address and set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.

- To prepare and send you a quote for your vehicle.
- To schedule pickup, tow the vehicle and pay you.
- To complete title, ownership-transfer and recordkeeping requirements under Florida and New Jersey law.
- To report purchased vehicles where federal or state law requires it, including to the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS).
- To respond to your questions and send you information about your request by phone, email or text message.
- To operate, secure and improve the Site.
- To prevent fraud and theft, and to comply with legal obligations and lawful requests from authorities.
Text Messages
If you provide your phone number and agree to receive text messages, we may send you informational texts about your quote, pickup and payment. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time; after you reply STOP, we will send one confirmation and no further messages unless you opt in again. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of selling your vehicle to us.
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile phone number or your text messaging opt-in data and consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared with the service providers that deliver our text messages, solely so they can provide that service.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described below.
- Government agencies. We share it with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, county tax collectors and other agencies, as required to transfer, cancel or report vehicle titles.
- NMVTIS. We share it with the federal title database, as required for junk and salvage vehicle reporting.
- Law enforcement and legal process. We share it with law enforcement or in response to legal process, when required by law or needed to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
- Service providers. We share it with service providers that help us run our business, such as website hosting, form processing, email and text message delivery, analytics and payment processing. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Business transfers. We may share it in connection with the sale, merger or reorganization of our business.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information for as long as needed to serve you and to meet legal, tax and recordkeeping requirements. State law sets minimum periods for some records. Florida, for example, requires salvage dealers to keep title and derelict vehicle records for three years, and New Jersey requires scrap metal businesses to keep purchase records for five years. When information is no longer needed, we delete or securely dispose of it.
How We Protect Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information. These include secured website connections, access controls and security monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices
- Text messages. Reply STOP to any text message to opt out.
- Email. Ask us to stop sending email at any time by contacting us at the address below.
- Cookies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. You can also use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Access, correction and deletion. You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. We will honor these requests unless we are required to keep the information by law, for example to meet vehicle title recordkeeping rules. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law, and we will respond to requests as those laws require.
Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Vehicle sales must be completed by an adult who is legally able to transfer the vehicle.

The Site links to government agencies and other websites, including the official sources cited in our guides. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. Please review their policies before you provide them with information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Changes take effect when they are posted.
